Review: Womanizer Liberty

February 23, 2019 by Miss Ruby 2 Comments

Womanizer Liberty

Well, Womanizer has upped its design game. Gone away is the old weird ear instrument-esque design (throwback to earlier models).  Now, the Womanizer Liberty gives you touchless orgasms in a neat, pretty, polished little pod. Read on for my Womanizer Liberty review!

Physical Details | How to Use | Packaging | Material and Care | My Experience | Overall

Physical Details

Womanizer Liberty

The Womanizer Liberty is one of the newest products from Womanizer, the poorly-named company that shook the sex toy industry with a new “Pleasure Air Technology.” Unlike a conventional vibrator that uses a motor to buzz against your clitoris, pressure wave toys like this use touchless suction/massaging air waves to stimulate the clitoris. The results (that I’ve experienced) are orgasms that tend to be stronger and longer.

Design-wise, I think the Womanizer Liberty is the most attractive model to date. At only 4 inches long, it’s pretty puny — similar in size to the Starlet and shorter than the Classic or the Premium.

Though small, it’s elegant. The body is smooth ABS plastic, a silver ring surrounds the removable stimulation head, and there are only two buttons: + and –. On the backside of the toy, there are two metal pins for charging, and a small Womanizer logo.

I chose my Liberty in this beautiful Powder Blue colour. It’s gentle, feminine, and oh-so-sweet. You can also purchase in Lilac, Pink Rose, and a Red Wine shade. Though I usually try to feature red toys on my blog (for my namesake), I couldn’t resist the Powder Blue! It’s really beautiful.

Womanizer Liberty

The Womanizer Liberty features a travel lid that snaps to the body for easy storage

The Womanizer Liberty comes with a handy travel cover that magnetically snaps to the body. It also comes with a satin storage bag, but I really like this hard travel cover. It makes sure that no dust falls into the head while not in use. The magnets aren’t incredibly strong, but the lid stays on well for me.

How to Use the Womanizer Liberty

Womanizer Liberty

The Womanizer Liberty has two buttons: + and –

  1. Turn the Womanizer Liberty on by pressing the + button for two seconds. It’ll begin at the lowest level.
  2. Position the head over your clitoris and press against you so you have an airtight grip. The more air-tight, the more effective the suction will be. Though designed for clitoral use, you could also use this against your nipples, or perhaps the frenulum if you have a penis.
  3. Tap the + button to increase speed. You’ll be able to tap it 5 times to get to the strongest level. To decrease speed, hit the – button.
  4. Once you’re finished, you can turn it off by pressing the + button again for 2 seconds.
  5. If the LED light is flashing (or it just won’t turn on it all), the Liberty needs to be charged. Used the included charging cable and plug it into your computer or a USB wall outlet. Connect the other end to the two metal pins at the base of the toy. A full charge will get you up to 2 hours of playtime.

Packaging

Womanizer Liberty

I adore the Womanizer Liberty‘s packaging. The box features trees, a grassy cliffside, and the ocean — a nod to feeling free (AKA liberated).

Once you open up the box, the Liberty is nestled in a plastic pillow. In total, you receive the Liberty (with the travel lid), a USB charger, a satin storage pouch, a manual and an extra stimulation head. This extra head is slightly larger than the one that comes already on the toy.

Material and Care

The Womanizer Liberty is made from ABS plastic (the body) and silicone (the stimulation head). Silicone is a fantastic material for sex toys… though still soft, it’s non-porous and non-toxic. This toy is bodysafe.

This Liberty is again totally waterproof (and feels better underwater), so cleaning is pretty simple. To wash, remove the silicone head and rinse it in hot, soapy water. Then switch on the Womanizer itself and immerse it in warm water for 60 seconds. Remove and shake, keeping it switched on until the last droplets sputter out.

If you’d like to add some lubricant, I recommend my favourite silicone-safe water-based lubricant, Sliquid H2O.

My Experience with the Womanizer Liberty

Womanizer Liberty

I’ve tried soooo many Womanizer toys. There was the old Pro40, then the +Size, 2GO, Starlet, Classic, and Premium. When the Womanizer Starlet came out, I was excited because it was a cute mini-size version… but it ended up being much weaker than the full-size models.

So naturally, when I tested this new Liberty model, I wanted to compare it to the current full-size models: the Womanizer Classic and the Womanizer Premium.

Womanizer Liberty

From left to right: Womanizer Liberty, Classic, and Premium.

The Womanizer Liberty is just as powerful.

Yup — My partner and I both did the blind test, and couldn’t feel any difference in suction intensity. If anything, the Womanizer Liberty feels nicer than the Womanizer Classic or the Womanizer Premium. It feels more thuddy (?) which is the only way I can describe it. It this was a conventional vibrator, I’d say it’s essentially more rumbly than the Classic or the Premium.

The lowest intensity is about as soft as the Classic, but not as soft as the Premium. If you have an ultra-sensitive clitoris, you might want to upgrade to the Premium, but I think this lowest intensity will be fine for most users.

The Womanizer Liberty is cheaper.

The Womanizer Liberty rings up at $99 USD. Not cheap, but reasonably priced considering the price range of toys with this technology. It’s slightly cheaper than the Womanizer Classic (which costs $129 USD) and much cheaper than the Womanizer Premium (which goes for a whopping $199 USD.

Womanizer Liberty

From left to right: Womanizer Liberty, Classic, and Premium.

The Womanizer Liberty is quiet.

The Womanizer Liberty is close in noise-level to the Classic and the Premium. At the lowest speed, it’s not as soft as the other two, but at the top speed, it’s virtually identical to the Classic.

I don’t think this can be heard through walls.

The Womanizer Liberty doesn’t have all the bells and whistles.

If you buy the Womanizer Liberty, you get a small, cute, strong pressure wave toy. There’s not much in the way of extra features, though. It has a travel cover, but it doesn’t travel-lock.  It won’t come with all the fun features that the Womanizer Premium has… such as the neat Smart Silence and Autopilot modes (which I explain in my review here). The Premium also has twice as many intensity levels and lasts twice as long on a full charge.

So compared to the Premium, the Womanizer Liberty isn’t particularly fancy. But, then again, it’s half the price.

The Womanizer Liberty isn’t as easy to hold.

In particular, I can’t hold it as easily during use — that small body means there’s a lot less of a handle. Plus, the buttons are now on the side that press against your body, making them harder to get to. But on the flip side… it’s so conveniently small and could easily fit in a makeup bag.

The Womanizer Liberty still brings on those orgasms.

Pleasure-wise, the Liberty doesn’t fail me. Its touchless orgasms tend to come on QUICKLY, and they don’t leave me over-sensitive… which means I can head towards a new one fairly soon. No complaints on this front with the Liberty — satisfied sex blogger, here. This thing packs a wallop.

Overall thoughts – Womanizer Liberty review

There are so many pressure wave toys on the market that I think Womanizer has had to up its game. Compared to the last tiny pressure wave toy Womanizer produced (the Starlet), there have been massive improvements.

Compared to the current full-size, more expensive models, the Womanizer Liberty is just as strong, quiet, and pleasurable. It doesn’t come with all the features that the Womanizer Premium does, but it’s half the price of that version.

If you’re on the fence between the Womanizer Liberty and the Classic, I actually recommend going with Liberty unless you have any mobility issues that’ll make it tough to hold a small object. You’ll save $30 bucks and get a prettier toy.

If you want to go the full monty, opt for the Womanizer Premium so you get all those extra features.

To purchase the Womanizer Liberty, head on over to Peepshow Toys. Why Peepshow Toys? They ship internationally, only carry body-safe products, and you can get a 10% discount off your whole purchase with coupon code RUBY. That brings the Liberty down to $89.10, and includes free USA shipping.
