If you’ve been following my blog at all for the last 6+ years, you’ll know that there’s one thing I believe: the original We-Vibe Tango has been the best bullet vibrator in the sex toy industry. I’ve been recommending it like a zealot since my blog’s creation. For its size, it’s ridiculously powerful and rumbly, and none of the other dozens of alternatives I’ve since tested has beaten it.
But the original We-Vibe Tango is getting on in years. And, while the don’t-fix-it-if-it-ain’t-broke saying is worthwhile, even I had to admit the original We-Vibe Tango had its issues (*cough* battery life *cough*).
That’s why I was so thrilled to get my hands on a new version: the We-Vibe Tango X.
We-Vibe hasn’t totally scrapped its original Tango design; instead, it’s added to it. Like with the original model, we still have that same amazing, narrow tapered tip in hard ABS plastic.
But the Tango X has added something — a silicone coated handle. This is new, and I like it (when your hands get slippery, it’s a lot easier to hang onto a silicone handle!). All the buttons are now on the side of the toy: you have +, ~, and — . The magnetic charging port lies at the base.
The We-Vibe Tango X comes in two striking colours: Midnight Blue and Cherry Red. Midnight Blue is a truly deep, navy blue. In dim lighting, it looks black. It’s a very serious, demure, sexy tone, and I’m digging it. On the flip side, the Cherry Red option is BRIGHT red. Very cheerful, a striking pop of colour for anyone’s bedroom. Thank you, We-Vibe, for not going with a generic pink or purple route!
The We-Vibe Tango X has 7 vibration functions (1 steady mode; 6 patterns). Each of these functions has 8 adjustable speeds, so there’s a lot of choices here. It’s waterproof, USB rechargeable, and you can travel lock it.

Accessibility
This section is to help folks determine if they might have any issues using/accessing this toy.
- Size: The We-Vibe Tango X is a small bullet clitoral vibrator. By my measurements, the bullet vibe is 10 cm long and 2.3 cm wide (at the widest part of the handle). The narrower top portion of the body is 1.7 cm wide.
- Weight: It’s a lightweight toy.
- Buttons: The 3 control buttons (+, ~ and –) are located on the side of the handle, towards the base. The buttons require moderate pressure to press down and make a soft click noise. The + and — buttons are circular (6mm diameter) and very shallow (1mm tall). The 3 buttons are spaced 3mm apart.
- Handle buzz: Some vibrations transfer to the handle (but not as much as with the original model). Your hand will buzz a bit when you hold it.
- Price: At $79 USD, this is an average price compared to other premium bullet toys with similar features. It’s also the same price that the original Tango model was.
How to Use the We-Vibe Tango X
- To turn on the We-Vibe Tango X, press the + button.
- Hold it continuously or tap the + button to increase intensity.
- Press the — button to decrease intensity.
- Hit the ~ button to cycle through the 7 vibration patterns.
- Apply to your body. Though designed for clitoral use, you can also use this against nipples or the shaft of a penis. However, as there’s no flared base, don’t use this anally.
- To turn it off, hold the — button.
- To activate the travel lock, hold the + and — buttons at the same time for 2 seconds. Do the same to unlock it.
Packaging
We-Vibe’s packaging is always amazing, full of bold colours and sleek design.
The We-Vibe Tango X ‘s box has varying shades of deep blue (or red, if you got yours in Cherry Red). The Tango X is on the cover. I see We-Vibe has revamped their logo; loving the new look.
Inside the box, you receive the Tango X, a USB charging cable, a white satin storage bag, the quick start guide, a booklet on safety info, and a sample packet of We-Vibe’s lubricant. My Tango X still had charge straight out of the box, so I didn’t even have to charge it first thing!
Material and Care
The We-Vibe Tango X is made from ABS plastic (the hard, shiny portion) and silicone (the handle), making it bodysafe. The ABS plastic is smooth and hard, and the silicone finish is very silky and matte.
The We-Vibe Tango X is fully waterproof and submersible. To clean, I rinse it in warm, soapy water before and after each use. You could also add a dedicated sex toy cleaner. Allow to air dry before storing it away.
If you’d like to use lubricant with this toy, choose a good quality water-based lube like my favourite Wicked Simply Aqua.
This toy comes with a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty, so keep your online receipt.
To recharge the We-Vibe Tango X, attach the white magnetic charger (included) to the two metal discs at the base of the bullet vibe. Plug that cord into your computer or a USB wall adapter. A full charge will get you up to 2 hours of playtime.
My Experience with the We-Vibe Tango X
If you want to skip straight to it: Does the We-Vibe Tango X feel good?
Yep. I tested the We-Vibe Tango X straight out of the box and, HOT DAMN. We-Vibe’s still got it.
There’s something about We-Vibe’s motors that clitorises respond really well to (well, at least mine anyway). I had 3 orgasms within 5 minutes of opening the box, which is really saying something. It’s glorious.
The We-Vibe Tango X‘s motor is strong and rumbly, and I also really appreciate the 3-button design upgrade. Now if I want to go down a level, I can just press the — button, instead of cycling through all the modes again.
Most of you probably want to know, though — how does the We-Vibe Tango X compare to the original famous We-Vibe Tango?

Body design – We-Vibe Tango X vs Tango
The main physical difference between the We-Vibe Tango X and the original We-Vibe Tango is that new silicone handle. This is a great improvement; the original Tango gets slippery and rattles out of your hand pretty quickly. The new silicone handle definitely gives me better grip during playtime.
Colour-wise, I also think the new colour options (Midnight Blue and Cherry Red) are more beautiful than the original blue and pink options.
Battery Life – We-Vibe Tango X vs Tango
I fully charged both the We-Vibe Tango X and the original We-Vibe Tango, set them on their highest speed, and let them run their course.
At its highest speed, the original We-Vibe Tango lasted 70 minutes.
At its highest speed, the new We-Vibe Tango X lasted 95 minutes.
There’s a clear winner here. The We-Vibe Tango X lasted 30% longer than the original.

Strength – We-Vibe Tango X vs Tango
We-Vibe says the Tango X features “an upgraded motor for more power.” So of course, I did the blind test with my partner. We took turns applying pressure with each toy while the other couldn’t see which toy we were using.
It pains me to say it, but I’m not convinced that the We-Vibe Tango X is any stronger than the We-Vibe Tango. During the blind test, I had trouble telling which vibe was stronger.
It’s true that the motor is undeniably different — with some pressures, the Tango X feels buzzier and weaker than the original Tango; other times, they feel exactly the same. This was disappointing. Don’t get me wrong… the Tango X is still hella strong. But sorry, We-Vibe; I personally don’t think you met this particular goal.
Noise – We-Vibe Tango X vs Tango
The We-Vibe Tango X is definitely quieter than the original Tango. I wasn’t expecting this, so it’s a nice perk. Perhaps it’s the silicone handle that muffles some of the sounds, or maybe it’s the new motor… but it’s definitely quieter.
Price – We-Vibe Tango X vs Tango
The We-Vibe Tango X is priced at $79 USD, the same that the original usually cost. The original Tango is being discontinued now, so you may find it on sale for a short time before stores run out of stock permanently.
If you already own the original We-Vibe Tango, should you bother upgrading to the We-Vibe Tango X?
If battery life is important to you, then yes you should upgrade to the Tango X, which I found to have a 30% longer lasting battery at top strength. I struggled with my We-Vibe Tango’s battery life over the years… I love toys that I can charge once in a blue moon, then store in my bedside table and have it ready whenever I need them. I’m not super diligent with regularly charging my toys, and it bugged me that the original We-Vibe Tango would so often have a dead battery when I wanted it (for that reason, I ended up buying a second, backup copy). With the We-Vibe Tango X’s improved battery life, you’re going to be reaching for that charger much less.
We-Vibe Tango X Review – Overall Thoughts
The We-Vibe Tango X has taken the original design and improved its noise levels, battery, and grip design.
I’m sad to see the original Tango be discontinued, but I’m satisfied that the Tango X will reign supreme from now on. if you don’t have a Tango, the Tango X will be an important staple for your bedroom. It feels fantastic, and I found that orgasms come quickly with this toy. The Tango remains the best luxury bullet vibrator on the market. Whew!
