Design
In the early hours of 2017, I reviewed the Womanizer Pro40 and my life changed, literally clitorally. I was blown away by the strong suction, the ease of use, the effortless orgasms. Womanizer, the original brand of suction-based (“pressure wave”) toys, had won me over completely with this Pro40 model, and I started recommending it above all other pressure wave toys.
And then in 2018, like Netflix cancelling a good show too early, Womanizer went ahead and quietly discontinued the Pro40 model. It disappeared from all distributors without explanation, and I had to scramble to find a replacement toy to recommend to my readers. Its functional replacement was the Womanizer Classic, which we settled with, but it always annoyed me that the Pro40 had disappeared in the first place when it was so perfect.
Enter 2019. Lovehoney and Womanizer have a one-off collaboration to release the Womanizer X Lovehoney Pro40. The look and feel of the old Pro40 have been brought back to life, with minor differences.

But first, let’s backtrack. What exactly does this toy do?
Womanizer’s Pleasure Air Technology stimulates the clitoris without touching it. Instead of vibrating like a conventional sex toy, a chamber inside the toy make pressure waves that feel like gentle suction. The weird thing I find is that, because it’s touchless, the orgasms almost feel spontaneous, unpredictable, and unexpected… but very powerful. And without any physical touch, the clitoris doesn’t desensitize after the first orgasm like it sometimes does with vibrators, so you can keep going on to enjoy several more orgasms.

How to Use the Womanizer X Lovehoney Pro40
- Before first-time use, charge for 3 hours.
- Press the power button. The Womanizer X Lovehoney Pro40 will turn on at the lowest mode.
- Place the Womanizer X Lovehoney Pro40 over your clitoris so that your clitoris is nestled inside the hollow opening in the toy’s head. The more air-tight the fit, the better.
- Press the + and — buttons to cycle through intensities. There are 6 intensities in total.
- Tapping the power button at any time will return it to its lowest mode.
- Press the power button for 2 seconds to turn it off.
- You can use this underwater, which tends to feel a bit more intense because it’s easier to get that air-tight seal.
Packaging
The Womanizer X Lovehoney Pro40 comes in tidy, standard packaging. It’s simple and functional, and I’ve no complaints.
Inside the box, you receive the toy, a USB charging cable, and the manual. Unlike the original Pro40, no storage bag or second stimulation head is included.
Material and Care
The Womanizer X Lovehoney Pro40 is bodysafe. Its body is made from ABS plastic, and the stimulation head is made from silicone.
To clean, remove the silicone stimulation head and clean with warm, soapy water, then separately wash the body. Once dry, place the head back on the body.
To charge your Womanizer X Lovehoney Pro40, open the little charging cover at the base of the top (a little silicone flap that flips up). Insert your included USB charger into the socket, then connect it to a USB port in your computer or a wall adapter. When charging (up to 3 hours), a red light inside the head will pulse. Once it’s fully charged, the light will be constant.
If you’d like to add lubricant, use a water-based lubricant (I recommend this one).
To keep it dust-free, I store mine in a clear ziplock bag.
My Experience/Comparison
Like my first experiences with the original Womanizer Pro40, reviewing and using this toy has been a pure delight. Any differences between the original Pro40 and the new Womanizer X Lovehoney Pro40 are superficial (which is exactly what I wanted).
The Womanizer X Lovehoney Pro40 has a different colour scheme. While the original Pro40 came in silver/white and silver/pink colour options, the Womanizer X Lovehoney Pro40 comes in black and gold. Asides from that and some logo rearrangement, the look is the same.
The Womanizer X Lovehoney Pro40 only comes with one head. An XL head was included in the box of the original Pro40, which increased versatility and was handy if you lost one. Though this version only has one head in one size (medium), you can purchase additional medium heads here if you lose any.

The Womanizer X Lovehoney Pro40 has the same functions. Like the original Pro40, you have 6 intensity levels. The controls are the same.
The Womanizer X Lovehoney Pro40 feels the same. If my memory serves me correctly, the new version feels just as good as the original Pro40, and its noise won’t be heard through walls. It’s strong and feels amazing. Orgasms come quickly and generously. There’s really no such thing as too much time with this toy, and I’m content with its quality and effectiveness.
Is this still the best suction toy on the market?
When I reviewed the original Pro40 in January 2018, I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. It surpassed any other suction toys available back then. The Womanizer X Lovehoney Pro40 is now, for all intents and purposes, the same toy, but it’s launching in 2019 when the market is now flooded with suction toys.
While the Womanizer X Lovehoney Pro40 is still an incredible toy, I don’t find it as strong or as quiet as the recently released We-Vibe Melt (review here) or Satisfyer Luxury High Fashion (review here). Still, at $119 USD this toy is certainly kinder on the wallet, which makes this a serious contender for new customers again. Long story short — I can heartily recommend the Womanizer X Lovehoney Pro40.
Overall – Womanizer X Lovehoney Pro40 review
My little blogger heart is thrilled to be reunited with the Pro40 with the launch of the Womanizer X Lovehoney Pro40. It’s essentially the same toy as the discontinued original Pro40, which is a GREAT thing, because that toy was incredible. While it’s not as strong as some other suction-based toys available nowadays, it’s still very pleasurable and less expensive, making this a great option.
Also, you know how overprotective you get when something you love’s been taken away in the past? That’s also how I feel about this toy — because the original Pro40 was discontinued, I recommend you get your hands on this one as soon as possible if you’re thinking about it.
Just in case. 🙂
