Design
The Magic Wand Micro is the latest addition to the famous Magic Wand/Vibratex brand. As a matter of principal, I need to get my hands on anything new from Magic Wand. The OG Hitachi Magic Wand transformed the landscape of sex toys, and they have made great improvements in the last decade (the Magic Wand Rechargeable, for instance, eliminated the plug, and replaced the traditional vinyl head with a clean silicone head).
There are small wands… and then there’s this wand. I couldn’t believe just how small the Magic Wand Micro is. At only 4.5″ long, this is basically pocket-sized. Just look at how teeeeeeeenie it is beside the Magic Wand Rechargeable in my image below!
Despite its lower price tag, the Magic Wand Micro still comes with the features you want from a high-end wand. The head is silicone, it’s USB-C rechargeable, there are multiple patterns and speeeds to choose from (going up to 6,500 RPM), and it comes with a 1-year warranty.
Like previous models, it also features a clean white, silver, and blue look. Its neck is also flexible, and there are nice clicky blue buttons along the side. Visually, it is an identical, micro version of the Magic Wand.
How to Use the Magic Wand Micro
- There are two buttons on the Magic Wand Micro: Power and Mode.
- To turn it on, tap the power button. It’ll turn on at its lowest steady speed.
- Press it against your body. Through this will most commonly be used for clitoral stimulation, there’s nothing stopping you from using it against other external parts of your body (ie penis or nipples). However, I wouldn’t attempt this for internal use.
- To change vibration speed, tap the Mode button. Keep tapping to cycle through the 3 vibration speeds and 4 vibration patterns.
- To turn it off, tap the Power button.
Packaging
The Magic Wand Micro comes in teenie tiny packaging too. The box is orange, blue, and white. While it has an image on the wand, it still looks more medical-themed, which keeps it discreet.
Inside the box, you receive the Micro wand, a USB-C charging cable, a wrist loop, and the user manual.
Material and Care
The Magic Wand Micro is made from shiny ABS plastic (the handle) and silicone (the stimulation head). These are fantastic materials for a sex toy because they’re easy to clean, hygienic, and hypoallergenic.
The Magic Wand Micro is NOT waterproof, so do not get this anywhere near water. To clean, Vibratex suggests “wiping clean” before and after use. That’s a bit too vague for my liking. To clean, I’ve been spraying a sex toy cleaner on a cloth and then using that to wipe the entire body, focusing on the head.
If you’d like to add lubricant (which I always recommend), try a good quality, water-based lube like my favourite basic Sliquid H2O.
To charge, insert the USB-C cable (included) into the base. Connect that cord to your computer or a USB wall adapter. A full charge takes about 3 hours to complete. This toy will last about 1.5 hours “at no load” (??).
My Experience with the Magic Wand Micro
Despite loving this brand, I didn’t have super high expectations for the Magic Wand Micro. The OG Magic Wand Original was amazing because it was a giant hunk of raw power. How good could this be, if reduced to such a small size? Smaller size means smaller motor, which usually = smaller power.
Full disclaimer: This is NOT as powerful as the full-size Magic Wand. Not by a long shot.
HOWEVER. Considering this is a snack-sized vibrator, it’s surprisingly strong. Even more surprising: it’s rumbly!
This means that I find orgasms easy to come by with this micro vibe. The rumbles penetrate and the second speed is strong enough to get me where I need to go. The small head provides broad-style stimulation with a hint of focus (when I want a more pinpoint feeling, I can just tilt it so that I’m using the corners).
The Magic Wand Micro is also not hard to use, practically speaking. The small body is still large and grippy enough to be a comfortable handle, and the button configuration is straightforward. It’s small enough that I can still use it during sex (or when also using a dildo). The wrist strap is quite handy for ease-of-use, and it’s removable for washing so I don’t have to worry about keeping it pristine
So, are there any downsides to the Magic Wand Micro? Well, as surprisingly strong as it is, it’s probably not going to satisfy power queens. If you’re really power hungry and need VERY intense vibrations to orgasm, you may want to upgrade to the full-size Magic Wand Rechargeable. The MRW will blast you with raw power, and is genuinely too strong for some people. The Magic Wand Micro is a couple of notches below it.
Lastly, cleaning. I wish every sex toy on the planet could be safely washable with water (ie, submersible). But like all Magic Wand products, the Magic Wand Micro isn’t waterproof. This is something to consider!
Magic Wand Micro Review – Overall Thoughts
Despite its teenie tiny size, the Magic Wand Micro still manages to pack a punch. It’s rumbly and strong and only 4.5″ long! It’s not going to give you the strength of the massive Magic Wand Rechargeable, but it’s a lot more portable.
