Design
When I heard that Womanizer was launching a vibrator, I was intrigued. Womanizer is famous for suction-based / pressure-wave sex toys, and they’ve rarely strayed to different genres. They’ve combined pressure wave with vibration in some of their products, but I think this is the first time they’ve left pressure-wave off the table and focused solely on vibration.
The Womanizer Vibe is what I call a ‘lay-on’ vibrator. It’s designed to wrap over the pubic bone and settle against the clitoris. Aesthetically, this must be one of the prettiest layon vibrators I’ve ever owned.
The Womanizer Vibe uses Womanizer’s new “Ultrawave Vibration.” Instead of a motor that rattles, they say their motor “combines low-frequency, rumbly vibrations with 10 powerful, harmonic resonances…Featuring a linear motor, it provides a gentle yet intense stimulation, guiding you through a symphony of pleasure.”
The Womanizer Vibe‘s design incorporates both broad and pinpoint stimulation. The head is long and broad with flat-ish edges that you can use against your vulva and clitoris. But the designers very cleverly gathered these edges up into a pointed scoop, letting you focus your vibrations to a pinpoint.
Aesthetically, the Womanizer Vibe is simple and cleancut. There’s no distracting elements; it is smooth and discreet. It really only has three simple buttons, a two-tone colour scheme, and a subtle “W” logo.
I got my Vibe in sage green, which is SO pretty. It’s a gentle, refreshing shade of sage green. It is also available in Dusky Pink and Dark Blue.
How to Use the Womanizer Vibe
- The Womanizer Vibe has three buttons: (+), (–) and (~)
- Long-press the (+) button to turn the Vibe on.
- Apply it to your body. This is designed for clitoral use; you can use the broader/flatter sides for broad-style stimulation or use the pointed tip for pinpoint stimulation.
- Tap the (+) and (–) buttons to cycle through the 10 intensities.
- Tap the (~) button to cycle through the patterns.
- Long-press the (–) button to turn it off.
Packaging
The Womanizer Vibe is packaged beautifully. The box matches the colour of the vibe (in my case, Sage Green). The box has an opening like a drawer that you slide out, and the Vibe is hidden under a sheet of white vellum.
All in all, you receive the Vibe, a fabric drawstring storage pouch, the charging cable, a safety information booklet and a quick start guide.
Material and Care
The Womanizer Vibe is made from silicone, making it bodysafe. Silicone is the best material you could ask for in a sex toy; it’s nonporous (making it hygienic), non-toxic and hypoallergenic.
The Womanizer Vibe is waterproof. To clean, I wash it in warm, soapy water after each use. Then I shake and pat it dry.
If you’d like to use lubricant with this toy, choose a good quality water-based lube like this basic Lovehoney Water-Based Lubricant.
To recharge the Womanizer Vibe, use the included USB charging cable; attach the magnetic end against the two little metal dots at the base. Plug that cord into your computer or a USB wall adapter. A full charge takes about 2 hours and gets you up to 1.5 hours of playtime.
All of Womanizer’s products come with a 5-year warranty, which is great. It’s always comforting to have that extra protection.
My Experience with the Womanizer Vibe
The main selling point of the Womanizer Vibe is that it is the “world’s first silent, clitoral vibrator.” They call it “noiseless.”
Sex toy companies usually say something like “whisper-quiet”, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a company call their vibrator “silent” or “noiseless” before. That’s quite a bold statement.
Is it actually noiseless?
The Womanizer Vibe has 10 intensity levels.
Levels 1-5: To my surprise, the first 5 levels are, indeed, noiseless to my ears. They’re remarkably quiet and my ears can’t pick up the motor. That is quite the achievement.
Levels 6-8: These levels are discernible, but only just. They’re quiet, but audible when I’m in the same room as the vibrator.
Levels 9-10: The top intensities are easily audible if you’re in the same room as the vibe. They’re certainly not silent, but I can’t hear them through a closed door.
How does the vibration perform?
Just about every sex toy is constrained by this rule: Not all noisy vibrators are strong, but all strong vibrators are likely to be noisy. Likewise, not all weak vibrators are quiet, but all quiet vibrators are likely to be weak.
And it’s true here. The Womanizer Vibe is fairly quiet, yes. But it’s unfortunately also fairly weak.
The adcopy for this vibrator suggests it can “elevate your orgasmic journey without overstimulation.” I take that as a hint about the motor strength. I’m not personally able to get close to any orgasm with this toy, and my hand is left feeling irritated by the vibrations after just a few minutes. I personally need moderate-to-strong rumbly vibrations (or very strong buzzy vibrations) for orgasm, and this just isn’t that kind of vibrator.
So what does this mean for your pleasure? This wasn’t orgasmic for me, but if you are someone who has a sensitive clitoris, this might still be orgasmic for you. This could be one to consider if you are very worried about your flatmate hearing a sex toy through your bedroom walls… it’s not completely noiseless, but this is probably one of the quieter vibrators I’ve ever owned.
Womanizer Vibe Review – Overall Thoughts
The Womanizer Vibe is a quiet layon vibrator. The first speeds are noiseless but the top speeds are a little audible. Overall, the strength is low to low-moderate. This makes it a good fit for people who need something VERY discreet and who are suited to gentler vibrators.
