I was genuinely excited to hear about the new Womanizer Liberty 2. I absolutely LOVED the first one (and recommended it madly to readers), and I was sad when it was discontinued. But never fear: Liberty 2 is here!
The Womanizer Liberty 2 is a pressure wave suction clitoral stimulator. If you know sex toys, you’ve heard about these as they’ve become extremely popular over the last years. Womanizer was the first company to popularize this technology and, in my opinion, they still put out the best suction toys on the market.
WHAT IS PRESSURE AIR TECHNOLOGY? Pressure air technology provides touchless clitoral stimulation, which makes your clitoris feel like it’s being sucked by air. This sex tech first emerged around 2016, and since then I’ve witnessed (and reviewed) the technology spread across the industry. I was skeptical at first, and the technology is pretty bizarre, but it can be SUPER effective. Its touchless orgasms can build gently but feel very intense, all without any temporary numbing that sometimes comes with conventional vibration.
The Womanizer Liberty 2 is designed like a little, innocent-looking pod. It fits neatly in your hand, and you really can’t tell what it is at first glance. But it has a removable magnetic cover that pops off to show the magic inside.
When you remove the cover, you find a white stimulation head (this is where the pressure wave magic happens) and two control buttons. The Liberty is one of the smallest pressure air toys that Womanizer carries; it’s only about 4 inches long and 90 grams in weight. It’s much smaller than the Womanizer Classic 2 (which I consider their standard product) or the Womanizer Premium 2 (their fanciest one). It’s also a no-frills option; you’re not going to get the Smart Silence and Autopilot modes that come with those pricier toys.
I chose my Liberty 2 in Sage Green. It is a gentle colour — traditional sage green on the outside and a lighter shade accenting the body when you remove the cover. You can also choose the Liberty 2 in Vibrant Rose (pink), Purple, or Dark Petrol (a peacock tone).
Pictured above is the first Liberty 1 (bottom) alongside the Womanizer Liberty 2 (top). As you can see, they are basically identical in appearance. The OG Liberty’s silver ring around the head has been replaced with plastic, and the Liberty 2 uses more matte textures, but otherwise they are quite identical.
How to Use the Womanizer Liberty 2
The Womanizer Liberty 2 is a clitoral suction toy that stimulates the clitoris using touch-free pressure waves.
- To turn on the Womanizer Liberty 2, press the (+) button for a couple of seconds.
- Center the Womanizer Liberty 2 over your clitoris (trying to fit the opening of the head over as much as your clitoris as possible (ideally getting an air-tight fit).
- Tap the (+) and (–) buttons to cycle through the 8 intensities. There are no patterns.
- To turn it off, press and hold the (–) button for a few seconds.
If you’d like to use the travel lock, hold the (+) and (–) buttons together for a few seconds. The Liberty will pulse with a light, and the toy will lock. To unlock it, do the same thing or pop it on the charger.
Packaging
The Womanizer Liberty 2‘s packaging is stunning, definitely putting this in a gift-worthy category.
The box matches the colour of your Liberty (in my case, Sage Green). The box has an opening like a drawer that you slide out, and the Liberty 2 is hidden under a sheet of white vellum.
All in all, you receive the Liberty 2, the charging cable, a sticker, a safety information booklet and a quick start guide.
Unlike the Liberty 1, you don’t receive an extra stimulation head or a storage pouch. The head is still interchangeable, and you can get more Womanizer stimulation heads here.
Material and Care
The Womanizer Liberty 2 is made from silicone (the stimulation head) and ABS plastic (the body), making it bodysafe. Silicone is the best material you could ask for in a sex toy; it’s nonporous (making it hygienic), non-toxic and hypoallergenic.
The Womanizer Liberty 2 is waterproof (IPX7). To clean, I wash it in warm, soapy water after each use. Then I shake and pat it dry.
If you’d like to use a lubricant with this toy (which I always recommend), choose a basic water-based lube like this Lovehoney Water-Based Lubricant.
To recharge the Womanizer Liberty 2, use the included USB charging cable; attach the magnetic end against the two little metal dots at the base. Plug that cord into your computer or a USB wall adapter. A full charge takes about 1 hour and gets you up to 2 hours of playtime.

My Experience with the Womanizer Liberty 2
Like the first Liberty, the Womanizer Liberty 2 has quickly skyrocketed to one of my favourite sex toys in my closet. It is powerful and orgasmic. The pressure air technology sends me into a touchless orgasm within a minute and it feels powerful and toe-curling. I’m a happy camper.

Given that the Liberty 1 has been a favourite of mine for so long, I couldn’t review the Liberty 2 without thinking of the original.
So what sets the Womanizer Liberty 2 apart from its predecessor, the original Liberty?
- More intensity levels. The Liberty 2 has eight intensity levels, compared to the OG Liberty’s six. The extra 2 intensities seem to be buried somewhere in the middle of the range.
- Not as quiet as the original Liberty 1. The Liberty 2 is louder right off the bat, even on the first speed.
- More eco-friendly. The new Womanizer packaging is more recycling-friendly; it is almost all plastic-free and it is plant fiber-based.
- New travel lock function. Simply hold the + and – buttons together for a few seconds, and the toy locks (until you repeat this step to unlock it). The previous generation did not have this! This makes travelling with the Liberty easier because you’re not worried about it turning on from a pocket press.
- NO extra stimulation head. An extra, larger head was included with the OG Liberty, but not the Liberty 2. This is a shame. But the head is still interchangeable and you can get more Womanizer stimulation heads here.
- No drawstring pouch. The Liberty 2 doesn’t include a fabric storage pouch, whereas the first did.
And what’s the same? It has the same size, weight, charging times, and waterproofing. More relevantly, the top strength is the same strength as the Liberty 1’s top speed (in my opinion). This means that those extra 2 intensity levels aren’t in addition/stronger than the Liberty 1’s original six speeds.
If you already have the Liberty 1, should you upgrade to the Liberty 2?
In my opinion, honestly, no. The Liberty 2 is as orgasmic as the Liberty 1, but there aren’t enough improvements to warrant spending the money if you already have a perfectly functional Liberty 1. You may get 2 more intensity levels buried somewhere in the midrange, but I find both toys have similar strength when it comes to the top speed. The Liberty 2 does give you different colour options, but it comes with less stuff (no extra stimulation head, no storage pouch).
Womanizer Liberty 2 Review – Overall Thoughts
Though small in size and lacking some of the features the more expensive options carry (ie, Smart Silence), I LOVE this design. It’s portable, discreet, and packs a punch.
But if you already have a Liberty 1, you don’t need to upgrade because there aren’t significant changes here. However, if you DON’T already have a Liberty and you’re in the market for a good quality, no-frills pressure wave suction toy, then YES definitely put this one on your wishlist! It’s orgasmic and luxurious. For $99, this is one of your best options when it comes to luxurious pressure wave clitoral toys.
