Design
The We-Vibe Sync Lite is a wearable vibrator designed to be used during PIV (penis-in-vagina) sex. The slimmer arm fits into your vagina, while the larger arm vibrates against your clitoris. The internal arm sits against your G-spot, and is typically slim enough to allow your your partner’s penis to slide in. Though mostly aimed towards enhancing clitoral and vaginal pleasure, it can also often stimulate the penis.
The We-Vibe Sync Lite is a no-frills version of the We-Vibe Sync, which was probably my favourite PIV couples vibrator of all time. The original Sync is no longer sold, but its newest generation is now sold as the We-Vibe Sync 2. It’s $159 USD which could feel a bit steep; the $89 Sync Lite is certainly a lot more affordable.
The We-Vibe Sync Lite looks like many of We-Vibe’s other wearable couples vibrators. It is C-shaped, with a slim internal arm and a bigger external/clitoral arm. It’s lightweight, barely heavy enough to register when I’m wearing it.
A single control button lies on the external arm, easily accessed during use (though you can also control it via smartphone app).
Unlike many wearable vibrators I’ve used in the past, the We-Vibe Sync Lite only has 1 motor. The vibrating motor lies in the clitoral arm, so the majority of the vibrations are focused against the clitoris. There are a few traveling residual vibrations that reach the G-spot arm, but barely.
The We-Vibe Sync Lite is splashproof, not waterproof. It is rechargeable. And it’s made of a smooth, matte silicone (making it bodysafe and hygenic).
My We-Vibe Sync Lite is Aqua coloured. You can also choose Pink. I really adore this tone of Aqua though — it’s refreshing and beachy!
How to Use the We-Vibe Sync Lite
The We-Vibe Sync Lite can be controlled via the button or an App.
Via button:
- Tap the ~ button on the We-Vibe Sync Lite to turn it on. It will switch on on the lowest steady speed.
- Keep tapping the button to cycle through the 4 steady states and 6 patterns.
- To turn it off, press and hold the button.
Via App:
- Download the We-Vibe App. This lets you customize your vibration patterns or, if you wish, have a long-distance partner control your Sync Lite from anywhere in the world.
Packaging
The We-Vibe Sync Lite comes packaged in a stylish box. The box is aqua and orange coloured for this Sync colour (or pink and orange if you went with the pink Sync Lite).
Inside the box, you receive the Sync Lite, a USB charging cable, a quick start guide, safety instructions, and a fabric drawstring pouch.
Material and Care
The We-Vibe Sync Lite is made from silicone, making it bodysafe, non-porous, and free of phthalates.
It’s NOT waterproof. Rather, it is splashproof. To clean it, I carefully rinse it in warm, soapy water before and after use (making sure not to submerge it).
If you’d like to use a lubricant (always recommended with silicone toys), opt for a good quality water-based lube like this one.
To charge, insert the needle-end of the USB charging cable into the little crater-like divet at the tip of the clitoral arm. Plug that into your computer or a USB wall adapter. A full charge takes about 90 minutes and gets you up to 45 minutes of playtime.
This toy comes with a 2-year warranty against defects. It’s always a good sign when you see companies stand behind their products like this.
My Experience with the We-Vibe Sync Lite
The We-Vibe Sync Lite has an appealing price-point. At $89 USD, it’s a lot more affordable than some of We-Vibe’s other products (like the We-Vibe Chorus, which is $209 USD!).
The We-Vibe Sync Lite is certainly a no-frills option. Unfortunately, and perhaps I’m just spoiled, but the features that I’m used to in We-Vibe’s worn-during-sex products are necessary and I miss them a lot here.
Vibration:
The We-Vibe Sync Lite only has one motor, which lies in the clitoral arm. There is no motor in the G-spot arm. No G-spot vibration isn’t a big deal for me, but it might be for you or your partner (my partner always liked the extra rumble).
Unfortunately, the clitoral motor isn’t particularly strong — it feels weaker than the Sync 2‘s clitoral arm, and it’s certainly not strong enough to get me to orgasm.
Comfort as a wearable item:
Pricier We-Vibe worn-during-sex toys have a hinge in the middle joint. The We-Vibe Sync I reviewed a few years ago had 2 hinges! Without the hinge, there’s no structure to the C-shape, and so the C-shape just bends and flops around. This is significant because the arms can’t sit snugly against you, which they need to do for stimulation. As a result, both arms on my Sync Lite kind of slide around, making it distracting for my partner and me.
Battery life and waterproofing:
The We-Vibe Sync Lite can only run for <45 minutes. Maybe that’s enough time for you, but I like to take my time and find this a bit restrictive. I don’t want to have to worry about batteries running out during a romantic evening… In comparison, the Sync 2 runs for up to 2 hours!
Lastly, the lack of waterproofness is a downer. We-Vibe’s sex toys are usually waterproof and I’m baffled as to why this one is only splashproof.
We-Vibe Sync Lite Review – Overall Thoughts
I’m not convinced that the We-Vibe Sync Lite is a good purchase, not when there are much better We-Vibe alternatives available. Without internal G-spot vibration, and with a hinge-less structure that is difficult to stay in place, I may as well just use a good clitoral vibrator and skip the wearable type altogether!
If you are a fan of the worn-during-sex vibrators, I highly recommend you shell out for one of We-Vibe’s better options. I particularly recommend the We-Vibe Sync 2, which comes with loads more features.
If I haven’t dissuaded you, you can pick up your own We-Vibe Sync Lite here! Why shop from We-Vibe? They ship discreetly, they ship internationally, and by buying directly from them you can ensure you’re not getting a knock-off!
