Review: Vive Riko by Shots

October 26, 2024 by Miss Ruby Leave a Comment

A clit-tapping vibrator with a robotic G-spot shaft. Read on for my Vive Riko review!

Design | How to Use | Packaging | Material and Care | My Experience | Overall

Design

The Vive Riko is a sex toy that does MANY things.

There are 3 independently controlled motors:

  1. One motor to tap the clitoris with a “pulse-wave” simulator plate.
  2. One motor to vibrate the tip of the G-spot shaft.
  3. One motor to make the G-spot shaft move in a “come hither” motion. I took a quick video of this function down below in “My Experience.”

That’s quite ambitious! I was intrigued, to say the least.

Above: The clitoris-tapping stimulation ‘pulse-wave’ plate

You’d think that a vibrator with so many functions would be a big, bulky thing, but it’s a good, moderate size. The total length is under 7 inches, and the shaft itself is only just over 4 inches insertable.

The Vive Riko has an “EZ Grip” handle — the handle has a soft, flexible loop built into it. This lets you tuck your hand in through the loop and hold the body of the vibe comfortably.

The Vive Riko comes in one colour: purple. It’s kind of an eggplant purple and I wish it was available in more colour tones. I’m a sucker for red and blue pleasure products..

The Vive Riko costs $120 USD. That puts it on the moderate/higher end of the range for vibrators in general in this market… but considering it has so many functions, its price tag is understandable.

How to Use the Vive Riko

The Vive Riko lets you control its 3 independent motors with the has 5 control buttons located on the handle.

  • Insert the G-spot shaft so that the shaft is nestled snugly inside of you and the pulse-wave stimulator is angled over your clitoris.
  • The buttons are: Power, Pattern 1, Pattern 2, Pattern 3, and Fx.
  • To turn it on, press and hold the central Power button for about 3 seconds.
  • To turn on the Pulse-Wave stimulator, tap the Pattern 1 button.
  • To turn on the vibrating trip, press the Pattern 2 button.
  • To turn on the Come-Hither G-spot stimulator, press the Pattern 3 button.
  • Tap their respective buttons to cycle through modes/patterns in any of the 3 motors.
  • To individually turn off any of these modes, hold those buttons for 3 seconds.
  • To turn on or off “Climax” mode, press the fx button.
  • To quickly turn off the entire toy, press and hold the central power button.

Honestly, when you’re trying to masturbate, having 5 different buttons that do different things is a bit too complicated. I wish the interface had been simpler somehow.

Packaging

The Vive Riko comes packaged simply in white and purple packaging. The white sleeve pictures the Riko and also includes operation instructions on the back. It slips off to reveal a purple flip-open box. Inside that, the Riko lies nestled on a foam cushion, along with the charging cable.

All in all, you receive the Vive Riko and the USB charging cable. It doesn’t include a storage bag, so if you’d like a dedicated storage pouch, you can shop for one here. However, any perforated/breathable bag should do.

Material and Care

The Vive Riko is made from silicone with ABS plastic detailing (the metallic strip around the controls).  Silicone is a fantastic material for a sex toy because it’s easy to clean, hygienic, and hypoallergenic.

The Vive Riko is splashproof (IPX6), which means you can rinse it but don’t submerge it under water.  To clean, I rinse in warm, soapy water before and after each use.

If you’d like to add lubricant (which I always recommend), try a good quality, water-based lube like my favourite basic Sliquid H2O.

To charge, attach the magnetic charging cable to the two pins at the base. Connect that cord to your computer or a USB wall adapter. You’ll know it’s charging when you see the central (O) button flashing with a red light. A full charge will take about 2 hours and last nearly 1 hour of playtime.

All VIVE vibrators come with a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty — see the VIVE website for details.

My Experience with the Vive Riko

The Vive Riko is better than I expected.

First off, check out the video of the “come hither” motions I captured below:

As you can see, the Vive Riko‘s robotic G-spot arm waves quite frantically in the “come hither” motion; it’s quite effective against the G-spot and feels divine. I don’t get G-spot orgasms, but I still appreciate good G-spot stimulation and this can give me that.

The G-spot vibrations, which are focused at the tip of the G-spot shaft and controlled independently, are a bit of a letdown. They’re moderately weak and fairly buzzy, and essentially fly under the radar (especially when the G-spot is in fingering mode). If you are looking for a G-spot vibrator that really rocks your socks off with its strength, you might want to look into something like the We-Vibe Rave instead. The shaft is plenty pleasurable with the come-hither movement alone.

Lastly, my favourite — the Vive Riko‘s clitoral thumping “pulse wave” plate is AMAZING. It’s not a vibrator, but sensation-wise it translates/feels like a very rumbly vibrator. It stimulates the clitoris quickly and effectively. You can’t press it firmly against you without it losing its effectiveness and, usually, that would be a dealbreaker for me, but it feels amazing with just a light touch.

I’ve found I can even use the clitoral thumper plate by itself (without inserting the G-spot arm); I just turn it upside-down so that the G-spot arm comes up and over my pubic bone.

My orgasms with the clitoral thumper plate combined with the G-spot arm have been amazing.

So what are my complaints? Just one: controls… there are too many buttons. Because the vibration mode is so weak, I’d have been happier if they left that function out altogether and then could at least reduce the number of buttons by one.

Vive Riko Review – Overall Thoughts

The Vive Riko is an orgasmic toy. I love the robotic come-hither G-spot shaft and, when coupled with the clitoral tapping plate, makes for a sensational time. I think they could have skipped the vibration mode and there are too many buttons but, otherwise, this has been a very enjoyable acquisition.
