Design
The Tracy’s Dog Surreal is a lipstick bullet vibrator. I’ve reviewed dozens of bullet vibrators, but I was curious about this one because its entire construction (apart from the button) is silicone and it comes with a clear, removable storage cap that slips over the body.
I love the aesthetics, honestly. It’s lovely. There’s a tapered tip so you can get pin-point precision. The handle is a cushy, squishy silicone wraparound cuff (built-in). There’s a single-button control, which keeps things simple during use.
The entire body is silicone, as well as bendy (which surprised me). It’s small and quite travel-friendly (especially with that plastic cap). At first glance, honestly, you can’t even tell it’s a vibrator, and it would be right at home in a makeup bag.
The shade is a brilliant cherry red. I’m a sucker for red sex toys, and this shade is just perfect.
How to Use the Tracy’s Dog Surreal
The Tracy’s Dog Surreal can be controlled via a single button, or App (Android | iOS)
Via Button:
- Press the button for 3 seconds to turn it on.
- Tap the button to cycle through the 3 steady states and 7 patterns.
- To turn it off, press and hold the button again for 3 seconds.
Via App:
You can also use the Tracy’s Dog Surreal with the Monster Party App (Android | iOS). Using the App, you can connect to your Surreal vibe with Bluetooth, control it, create patterns, download patterns, and connect long distances. More on the App is discussed in My Experience below.
Packaging
The Tracy’s Dog Surreal comes packaged in a gorgeously illustrated pink and red box. The lid flips open to reveal the Surreal and its charger nestled inside. All in all, you receive the Surreal, the manual, safety instructions, a support card, and the charging cord.
Material and Care
The Tracy’s Dog Surreal is silicone, which has a soft and matte texture. This is a fantastic material for a sex toy because it’s easy to clean, hygienic, and hypoallergenic.
The packaging says this is IPX7 waterporoof, which typically means that you can submerge it. However, the safety instructions clearly state “Do not immerse the product in water” so I’m confused. To be safe, I’m simply considering this splashproof.
To clean, disconnect from the charger. I simply rinse in warm, soapy water before and after each use, and air dry it. Tracy’s Dog also carries a sex toy cleaner if you’d like one, though basic soap works fine for me.
If you’d like to add lubricant (which I always recommend), try a water-based lube like this one. Avoid silicone-based lubricants, which will damage the finish of any silicone toy.
To charge, insert the needle-end of the charging cord into the faint hole labelled DC near the base of your toy. Plug the cord into your computer or a USB wall adapter. A red light will flash while charging and grow steady once done. A full charge takes about 2 hours and lasts about 75 min
My Experience with the Tracy’s Dog Surreal
The Tracy’s Dog Surreal is a decent vibrator, though it’s not without some flaws.
In practice, I have no trouble reaching a powerful orgasm thanks to its rumbly vibrations. The strength is moderate, but the rumbles travel deep and orgasms are very satisfying.
I love how travel-friendly, quiet, and easy to clean it is.
The storage cap is INCREDIBLY handy. I wish all vibrators came with a cap like this. If I don’t have time to rinse off my vibe after use (not recommended, but it happens!) I can just pop the cap on it and then later wash both the vibe and the cap. The cap keeps the stimulation tip clean when it’s knocking around in my bedside table drawers. It’s much better than a fabric drawstring pouch, which will (more often than not) deposit little bits of fluff onto your silicone toy.
Though I find this vibe satisfying the Tracy’s Dog Surreal definitely has some drawbacks.
First, the bendiness. Bullet vibrators with a tapered tip are typically designed for firm, pin-point simulation. However, when I press this hard against me, the vibrator moves away from my body because it’s so bendy. I’d be able to get much firmer stimulation if the body was rigid, and I’m confused as to why they make this bendy. If you’re a firm stimulation lover like me, this might be a dealbreaker
Second, the app…
I usually prefer using physical buttons anyway, but I downloaded the app to give it a try. It connected VERY easily and seemed to have good range, which was great. The app is fairly intuitive and some users will enjoy being able to create and download custom vibration patterns.
HOWEVER: there are microtransactions. You can purchase gems and also a VIP membership, which is a subscription. You cannot do long distances without paying a per-minute fee, which will make this app extremely expensive for long-distance partners. I haven’t come across a microtransaction app in the world of sex toys before, and I can see why people will be completely put off by it. This will likely be a dealbreaker for you if you’re specifically looking for a product that you can use to connect with others. This, in my opinion, is the biggest drawback of this product.
Tracy’s Dog Surreal Review – Overall Thoughts
The Tracy’s Dog Surreal is a good product in many ways. I love the cute design, the storage cap is remarkably handy, and it is a quiet, rumbly vibrator. However, I wish the silicone body wasn’t bendable because it reduces how firm I can press this against me. The biggest drawback, for me, is the microtransaction app; if you plan to connect with a long-distance partner, be prepared to pay by the minute.
